On February 6, 2017, major tech companies such as Apple, Google, and Uber have joined forces in Seattle to discuss President Donald Trump’s travel ban. They all say that the travel ban will actually hurt their businesses.
The travel ban would cause business to build operations outside the U.S. A long list of companies and enterprises have joined the fight in order to stop the ban from happening such as Facebook, eBay, and Netflix. Some are looking for help in order to sue Trump due to harming residents and causing high amounts of discrimination. His orders directly applies to countries such as Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.

This travel ban has caused many problems for foreigners outside the U.S. to enter and too many protests inside the country. Many companies are worried that his executive order would destroy the “entrepreneurial spirit that fuels America”. Meaning that their would be less creative people to help fuel businesses because many people who have great ideas for business companies or want to start their own companies are immigrants.
The purpose of the ban according to Trump is to protect American citizens from any future terrorist attacks and having illegal immigrants coming into America. Also, the government says he has the right to decide who can enter the U.S. However, this does cause problems for people entering and leaving the U.S. especially if they were born outside the country seeking a better life on American soil. Most just want to have a better life for themselves and their kids to pursue the American dream. They want to stop living in fear and live their daily lives.
What do you think? Is Trump trying to help America or hurting US businesses? Will this ban make major companies do more work in the U.S or seek work in other countries?
