How Globalization impacts my Life and the United States.

Globalization is the process by which businesses or other organizations develop international influence or start operating on an international scale. Factors of Globalization include integration and international influence of economies and cultures. From the songs we hear on the radio to fashion, technology, emigration from one country to another etc, all have to do with globalization and the spread of influences throughout the world. Through the effects of globalization, I have learned many things regarding other countries and have developed a daily sense of understanding for other people, nations, cultures etc. For example, Globalization has impacted my family through Colonization. As a result of Nigeria being a former colony of Britain, my family practices Christianity and speaks English. Christianity was spread to Nigeria through Christian missionaries from Britain.

There is no question that globalization has been a good thing for many developing countries who now have access to our markets and can export cheap goods. Globalization has also been good for American Multi-national corporations and Wall Street. According to Forbes, globalization allowed America to maintain its lead in innovation.  Popular companies like Nike and Apple outsource jobs to China and elsewhere in Asia, but have their products designed here, generating highly paid jobs for American employees and hefty returns for American investors.
