The Toxic Culture at Victoria’s Secret

Victoria’s Secret is a famous American designer, manufacturer, and marketer of women’s lingerie, womenswear, and beauty products. When we talk about this brand, I believe many people will first think about Victoria’s Secret Angels and Victoria’s Secret fashion show, which has been canceled this year. While I am not going to talk about the fashion show of Victoria’s Secret. I want to talk about the dark side of the fantastic Victoria’s Secret fashion show.

Last week, more than 100 models, have signed an open letter to Victoria’s Secret Chief Executive Officer John Mehas to asking him to take steps to end alleged abuse at the company. The complaints were made against Ed Razek, who used to be the president and chief marketing officer of Victoria’s Secret parent company L Brands. The allegations include bullying, lewd comments and sexual harassment. According to three people who witnessed his actions, Razek had asked 2 models to have private dinners with him and urged others to sit on his lap.

I think this is very ridiculous. Victoria’s Secret is a company whose mission is to make women better, but the female employees who work here are constantly being treated in disrespect. We call those beautiful models angels, but they lived in hell. This toxic culture cannot be tolerated. At the same time, At the same time, I’m glad that employees who have been harassed are not afraid to tell their stories.
